We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – we love to provide ski trip advice. One of the main reasons we started conSKIerge is that we would constantly get asked “where should I go on a ski trip?” or “what ski jacket should I buy?” and so we figured why not share our thoughts in a more organized manner. Years later and we’re still having fun and hope you’ve found it to be a helpful resource!

You’ll notice we spend a lot of time talking about Alta and Snowbird because that is where we spend our winters skiing. Little Cottonwood Canyon is a special place for us and our completely biased opinion is its some of the best skiing in the world. It is a very unique place, and we love to recommend it to the right skiers (there is absolutely nothing to do except ski!). Local knowledge is immensely helpful when it comes to planning a trip to Alta or Snowbird, and we like to highlight new businesses that serve the canyon. Enter Ski Donkey…

I had the opportunity to connect with the folks behind a new venture for Powder House ski shop called Ski Donkey. Got to love that name! Ski Donkey is a ski delivery service local to Little Cottonwood Canyon. They will deliver skis, boots, helmets, and poles directly to your rental house or hotel room. Why trek to the ski shop the first day of your trip only to wait in the endless lines when you can be sized for boots and fit to the right skis from the comfort of your chalet. All you have to do is get online 48 hours prior to your arrival date (can be made 24 hours in advance on case by case basis via phone) o input where you’ll be staying, select the products your looking to rent and input your desired delivery date, and the folks at the Ski Donkey will handle the rest. They’ve outfitted a new shop van (pictured left) with all the bells and whistles (think of it as a ski shop on wheels) and show up at your door at the scheduled time determined 48 hours prior to your rental. They’ll then get you into ski boots to try for sizing, adjust the ski bindings to fit accordingly and get you outfitted with anything else you may have opted to not travel with. This is a guaranteed way to simplify your travel experience and get you on the slopes smoothly.
